"Espère" is hope in French, and the look of this ornament embodies one of the greatest gifts of the season. Handcarved from styrofoam and handbeaded in ivory seed pearls and iridescent sequins, the 5" long ivory duchesse satin ornament is dazzling in elegant beauty, featuring a pearl and rhinestone pendant in its center. Each sequin on the faces of the ornament is crowned by a seed pearl. The sequins catch the lights of your tree and add a glamorous touch to any Christmas tree.
"Esprit" is the French word for spirit, essence, soul, and this ornament gives that in abundance. It is in the shape of a sankofa, an Adinkra symbol that represents the proverb "It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten". Every year, we reclaim our past in the present with our holiday traditions, and give our memories new life. In this season of joy but also challenge, this is a representation of that goal, in hopes of building a stronger future. Also handcarved from styrofoam, it is handbeaded in ruby, emerald, and gold glass seed beads that highlight its heart shape-but with a decidedly New Orleans twist at the bottom.

Each ornament has a gold wired ribbon hand-tied atop it to enable it to be hung immediately. It is given in a commemorative lavender Belle Lafaye box, also made by hand, and with a card giving care instructions as well as space for a gift message. They make a wonderful present!
